Side marker lights

Well I installed a set of those famous marker lights. The left (driver side) seems OK , at least they light up. When I installed the right side ( passenger side) , they stay lit, even with the key out. I tried connecting to the other wires that were there and I got nothing. I’m thinking it’s a waste of $90.

Perhaps they were wired to the time delay off circuit and it was still active. Try double locking truck which turns off the delay off circuit early.

Sounds like they're not connected to the correct wires...

In another thread it is claimed the instructions are wrong and are shown to be hooked up to the hit wire and not the switched wire. Maybe ask manufacturer for correct wiring instructions or search for other threads here

The wiring is model-dependent, which is not reflected in their instructions. Been a while since I did mine... I recall there were 4 wires to the headlight, 2 of them were heavier gauge than the other 2....can't remember the colors. The instructions said to use one of the bigger wires, and I had the exact same issue as you. I then randomly tried the other big wire, and everything then worked as it should.

Funny thing is, I ended up disconnecting that wire anyway and just using the lights as turn signal indicators. The side markers were too bright for my liking, even after I tinted the lenses.

I made my own (turn signal only) and used a meter to find the correct wire to tap into on both sides of my XLT.

Actually, that’s a video I used. I went back in and he had a footnote that saying that it was probably a different wire that could be used purple on green for those. I had the lights stay on, I tried that and it still didn’t work.

Actually, I had the same problem. The important thing to remeber is the location of the wires in the video referenced in this thread.. Use those locations and don't pay attention to color. The first time I connected it, the splice did not go all the way through to the wire. I re-spliced with a turn and that worked

It looks like the” Mabett community“ is on FACEBOOK. I was on there till my account got hacked, I haven’t been able to get back on FACEBOOK since . When I tried to install the fender light, I have the left side working, I think. The right side just stayed on. I tried connecting, to all the wires and nothing, unless no connection was made. I’m not sure how to do a PM on this site.
what do I need to do to directly contact you?
it‘s 2:30 am right now a little dark to try and get picture, I don’t have a garage and it’s been very rainy here.
