My 2024 Maverick 2.0 shudders under acceleration at low speeds. It seems to be worse when in ECO mode. Doesn't do it above 35-40 mph. I have to accelerate slowly, then pickup the pace. I have heard CV joint imbalance, spark plugs, engine mount. It has just shy of 78000 miles. I drive mostly on freeways for my work. Ideas?

Op,
You remembering to do your Italian tune ups ?
With winter just about over I’d run the gas tank down to the warning light then put in a bottle of dry gas. Fill it up and drive it in sport mode for the whole tank,
Then from an empty tank a big ass bottle of Chevrons injector cleaner, fill it up and stay in sport mode for that whole tank.

Oh and you bought an Ecoboost, Wu~Tu~Fu
Are you doing in eco mode anyway ?

Eco mode always makes my perfect running 2024 Eco with 16,000 miles feel like it needs a tune up and has never done a thing for my mileage.

My eco should only have,
Normal,
Sport,
Tow haul,
And Slippery

Anything that, ā€˜Retards’ a Turbo equipped engine is stupid.
Eco mode my ass~~~

You buying fuel from a top tier station like Shell or BP that,
Key point here, sells a crap ton of fuel regularly right ?

Had the same issue on my 2023 Lariet. Ford replaced the front axles under warranty..it's a known issue.

Dry Gas is really unneeded if you have already been running an ethanol enhanced fuel. The ethanol will soak up any water or condensation in the tank.
I would lean more toward drivetrain issues like others have mentioned.

After reading about a 1000 posts about bad front axles, I’de say it’s your cv joints

Ford will replace them for free even though you are out of warranty since every Maverick they produced prior to 2025 has crappy cv joints
Time to make an appt.

This is also true for the 2022"s. In fact, only 2022's are covered so far by Ford under a program for ten years or 150k.

Do you have any pointers to documents about this?

I'd love to "use" this as I just started experiencing it myself about a month ago. I've had mine since new.

The 22's are covered by build date under CSP (Customer Satisfaction Program) 25N09. Build between Dec 1, 2021 and Nov 12, 2022, IIRC. Edit: should be Nov 23, 2022.

Well, there is the drive train warranty coverage up to 5 years/60k miles. If you're still within it, if not, maybe Ford Customer Service can help you as this is such a well known problem.

OP, I'd bet your front axles/CV joints are shot. Known issue.

I'm behind the knowledge curve on this. I thought only the hybrids had CV issues. No?
