Should I switch from hybrid to ecoboost?

Depends on how you plan on using your truck.the 2.0 still gets 30 mpg,and can tow twice as much.to me 12 mpg more in the hybrid was just not worth it,that why I ordered the ecoboost.plus the hybrid is new /first year technology.the 2.0 is proven.

I ordered a hybrid on sept 16 2022. Went back got the dealer to change priority 19 to 10. should i change to ecoboost or take my chance?

That priority 10 basically puts you in the forward part of the line for my23 orders. You should be easily be in the top 50 percent of hybrid orders. Your dealer allocation is the real unknown here. Just from what I've gathered on this forum. If you really want the hybrid, I thinks it's a good gamble.

If you're on the fence, go Ecoboost. You know you'll get it, and it opens a hybrid for someone else.

Wait. Patience will pay off. I’ve had both EB & hybrid. The latter is hands down the way to go.

it’s not just about the fuel savings. The eCVT is super smooth, doesn’t sound like a pre-puberty diesel clicking away, is instantly responsive. Don’t have the annoying start/stop ignition. The gas/electric engine transition is unnoticed.

it’s not first year technology- ford has been working on this for years. Sure it’s a new culmination of many projects but what is there to prove? 4cly EB isn’t any more reliable and I’d argue you’re safer w hybrid given it’s longer warranty coverage from Ford on the hybrid electrical components.

and when gas goes back up, you’ll be really happy. NTM- the range on the EB isn’t great. And good luck truly getting 30mpg every time with the AWD. That’s not going to happen if you live anywhere with speeds above 55MPH and non-flat roads. People just like to say that, post the pic of that one time it happens. But it won’t every day.

I have a 2023 hybrid, 2022 conversion, with a production date set for next month and I own the eco-boost--which I bought a year ago because I could not wait for a vehicle--and I still somewhat on the fence as to whether I will trade in the eco-boost. thanks for your endorsement of the hybrid which include positives that I have seen consistently repeated in reviews.

My 4K eco-boost mileage has been ticking down now that we are in winter weather in Wisconsin but was at @ 26.5 per the dash on 10K miles worth of driving @ 60/40 city/highway ethanol-blend regular gas, prior to winter. On straight highway I can hit almost 32 if I keep @ 70MPH. I have been scratching my head on some of the higher MPG reports for eco-boost but understand there can be variability among same vehicles. Lately I have been using ECO mode which is noticeably lethargic in hopes of keeping the winter impact in check.

For the person who started this thread or whoever is on the fence, if you REALLY need the additional towing capacity and if you REALLY need AWD then the EB probably should be something that you should consider.
I am already expecting to purchase michelin cross-climate 2 tires for my hybrid assuming I trade in the EB and I will definitely miss AWD in NE Wisconsin plus the potential of 4K if I ever needed it.
too bad Ford isn't offering AWD. That offering will change the equation when it occurs.

Just talked to my dealer, I ordered an XL on 11/10. My sales person is saying probably another 6 to 7 months if I still want the hybrid or I can change it to the ecoboost and probably get it in 2 or 3 months. thoughts?

No guarantees there. Get what you want.

I switched from Hybrid XL to XLT since I had the double whammy. It's been 14 months and I feel like I had to do something.
