Should a 2023 Lariat Tremor have power locking tailgate?

Just bought a used Lariat Tremor and noticed the tailgate isn’t locking with the fob. Quick google search seems like the XLT and up should have this feature. Anything I should check? Thanks

The first thing I would look for is if the plug on the harness that connects the tailgate to the truck is connected properly. Is the rear cam working correctly? If yes, then I would open the panel on the tailgate and see if the lock actuator is connect (and there). Maybe the original owner had to get a new tailgate and did not move the actuator?

Camera works fine. I’ll have to try and find the panel you’re talking about. I don’t think the gate was replaced, seems like the original Ford spray in liner but I’ll look closer.

unless the truck has more than 36k miles you're under bumper to bumper warranty, just take it in and have it fixed.

There's a panel on the inside of the tailgate when you open it it's about 5 ft long 1 ft wide and has eight torx screws in it. Remove that to make sure the connector for the tailgate lock actuator is connected.

If it is and it's not working still then take it to the dealer and have them see what's wrong with it.

If your lucky, maybe the original owner did not like the tailgate locking so he simply disconnected it?

If you’ve gone that far, you might as well fix it yourself. Start with making sure the lock is getting power with a meter.

My 22 XLT FX4 LUX locks, do Tremors come with luxury package??

Mine should have it. The window sticker was left in the glove box and it is listed on it. I’m curious if he actually did replace the tailgate now because it doesn’t have a Tremor sticker on the gate. I’m waiting for the weather to clear up this morning to go investigate.

My 2023 Lariat EB Lux has the tailgate power lock working. I would assume yours should too unless it was disabled

Mission accomplished. Previous owner had just unplugged the lock in the tailgate. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
