Here's the "nonsense" we're talking about.

I'd turn up the radio while Ford takes ownership of the issue, but my door rattles from the speakers too. 🤷‍♂️

Am I expecting too much for $36,000?
No, that would bug the piss out of me but that is the reality of the vehicle and vehicles produced currently.

My Bronco rattles are in the dozens and they aren't all related to the soft top. Squeaks and rattles like it came from the 70s.

I get it OP, my Maverick had so many problems:

1. One of the tires was 34 psi instead of 35 psi.
2. The windshield washer fluid was only 99% full.
3. One of the floormats wasn't straight.
4. There was a smudge on the rearview mirror.
5. The hood gaps were off by at least .04mm.

I currently have a lemon law case open with the state attorney general. I am trying to find counsel for a class action lawsuit as we speak. It is simply unacceptable that these trucks have so many problems. No other car on the market every has any minor things like this in a first model year. The dealer really should have caught these things when they did their thorough bumper to bumber delivery prep. These Ford engineers and technicians just seem to really not care at all.

I never bother taking a vehicle in for a rattle if I can't fix it myself. I never let anyone work on my vehicles and every time they take apart the dash they add 3 more rattles. My last Escape had a ton of rattles and I tracked them down and added a significant amount of foam insulation tape strategically to certain panels to get rid of them. You want something done right you gotta do it yourself.

Maybe you need a motorcycle. Then you won’t hear anything but wind

I'd like everyone to take a breath with me, inhale....exhale, ahhhh.

Ok now that we are calm lol; I have the rattle as well. I have had the truck a month, it is an annoyance certainly and when my lazy butt gets an appointment scheduled I will get the dealer to handle it under warranty, yes, it may take a trip or two, but often the tech can make or break these things depending on their effort level.

Take the shop foreman for a ride if needed so you can agree that it is able to be "reproduced" and then corrected.

Some owners have windshields replaced and it has been fixed, I am curious if a simple removal and reinstall would fix. I will work with the dealership and know that I have plenty of time/mileage for the warranty to cover.

It is ok for folks to vent frustration, everyone wants their hard-earned money to be well spent, regardless of overall cost, I think we can agree on that. Please post what fixed it if you find out, it will help others on the forum with the issue.

Perspective is also important; your family/friends, health, a roof over your head etc. those items first, a good glass of wine or bourbon second, Maverick issues third hahaha!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

p.s. The Maverick is AWESOME, I truly love it. :)

To say that every one of the trucks has something wrong is no acceptable. You think customers should be satisfied with a 100% fault rate? Not a chance that is acceptable. I have purchased new and used for between 36,000 and 120,000 miles: 2006 Mazda Tribute, 2007 Mazda6, 2016 Mazda CX-3, 2017 Mazda CX-5, 2020 Mazda CX-5. One warranty claim and visit to the dealership in all of those vehicles. One. A headlight with excessive internal condensation on the 2006 Tribute. I have not had any of the others into the dealership for anything. Not a squeak, a rattle, a repair of any kind. I have never owned any high end products, so I guess quality from lowly little Mazda has spoiled me.

I understand the Maverick is an entry level truck. I can accept that it makes extensive use of plastic. I can live with limited sound insulation for example. I can even expect thin paint. I cannot expect rattles in the dashboard that according to several other discussions on this forum can take forever to track down. Go look. There are entire threads on this.

Yes, I will take it in for warranty work. The fact of the matter is, it should not be necessary for this. This type of situation is a result of faulty engineering. So now as a result, I get to chase around trying to get this annoyance cured in a brand new $32,000 truck. If it gets fixed in one trip to the dealership I will come on here and sing their praises, but it simply should not be necessary in the first place.

I have seen videos of brand new Escalade's with these same issues. It isn't just a Ford Maverick issue. This stuff happens in all assembly plants whether it is Ford or Cadillac or any other brand.

I understand that you bough a truck with a $36K price tag. But, again I know people hate hearing this; you bought a $20k truck with a lot of options.
I have a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid that is coming in at $35k, and a Maverick on order at $34k. They both have pretty much the same options - heated seats, ACC, dual zone AC, etc. The reason a RAV4 doesn’t have the same $22k starting point is that the bare minimum package includes options the Maverick lets you strip out. If Ford offered an even lower trim of the Maverick that didn’t include the seats and wheels for $16k, does that make it a $16k vehicle? Do you expect the quality across the board to dip now that it’s just a $16k truck, even if the median order is somewhere in the $25-30k range?
