I made an earlier post about gluing mobile phone touchscreen buttons to the temperature / fan controls of the 2025 infotainment touchscreen, but after a few months the glue failed and the buttons came off. I took another swing at it and 3d printed a frame to hold the interior part of the buttons. As an added benefit, it frames the other climate control buttons to help prevent mis-clicks! The frame leaves space for a screen protector and clips around the back of the screen. I imagine without a screen protector there might be too much slop behind the buttons for them to click properly.
3d print files can be found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2024804-2025-maverick-touchscreen-buttons-overlay-frame
Don't have a 3d printer? There are online services to have things printed for you, such as Shapeways. I've never tried any of them so I have none to recommend. I printed this in PETG to help it be more temperature resistant. I tested doing it transparent, but I didn't like how it looked.
The actual buttons that activate the + / - on the fan / temperature controls can be pulled out of a mobile phone touchscreen button kit from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZ7WN4SP
This is the piece you need out of the buttons, you can just pull them out with a pair of tweezers:
Mabett (or some other site sponsor), you should make this as a product! You can even use my source files, I don't care. I didn't put a lot of effort in, but I wager someone with more dedication than myself could make transparent buttons for the climate control functions where you need to see the screen to know the status.
