Have a XL Hybrid with around 12,500 miles. Recently the screen just doesn't turn on and I cannot reset it. It usually works after I let turn off and on again but now does not even do that. Found out I can turn it on by pressing the power button but it just boot loops. Power and Forward does not work. Reverse camera and sound also does not work during this. Last the whole trip can be up to 30 minutes. I come back to it later and it could be blank or working. No OTA update when checked. Since it's intermittent, can't bring it up to the dealer when it's doing that.

Did you try a hammer?
Hammer always works.

I saw you did a hard reset there and still nothing?

I tried but since it's intermittent. Dealer says to come back when it does it so they can see it.

Sadly I hear ya, but it is what it is. Not aware of any magic fix for your problem.

I have to wonder why they have to "see it". Surely, the dealer has diagnostic equipment that would detect a bad screen.

Screen is not the issue. This is an intermittent issue with the software or hardware. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes it does this. I wish it would totally break so I can get it replaced. Instead of wondering if it will work the next time I start the car.

Understood. By “screen” I meant to imply whatever software or hardware that contributes to its operation. Intermittent types of failures can often be traced to some type of bad connection. Whatever the cause, I empathize with your frustration.
