I went to my local Ford dealership actually looking for a hybrid because I like the mobile generator idea for my dispersed camping. The one thing that had a heavier weight in my decision was that co-pilot 360 package with the advanced cruise control. My daughter's car has something similar to it and I really loved it. My dealership did not have any Lariat hybrids, and my situation meant that I didn't have time to wait to order one. So, I 'ended up' with a Tremor and I do not regret it one bit. I love how deep I can get into the woods and I'm exploring new parts of the forest that I never would dare to explore before. As I'm getting more and more daring with it and taking that to places that a Maverick shouldn't be, like Bald Mountain Lookout Tower or Buck Rock Jeep Trail, I'm wondering if I should just spend some money on some underbody protection and keep surprising people with my little Maverick or should I upgrade to something like a Ranger or Tacoma?

Strange post.... If your Maverick is already taking you where you wanna go, why would you change? If you just want something different, or more off-road capable, then do it. It's not complicated. The Maverick, even in Tremor trim, is not a serious off-road machine, and was never intended to be. Pick the right tool for the job, but understand your job...

Seems like it's already taking you where you want to go...and more! I've seen tons of posts on here about people loving their Tremor Mavericks for off roading. Keep doing what you're doing and enjoy the ride. It should already have some underbelly protection? I know my FX4 has a skid plate anyways. Someone put a hitch mounted bar on the rear to keep from tearing apart the rear plastic bumper when ascending and descending certain trails.

Interesting post. Looks like you are enjoying your Tremor. I’m hearing they are not selling as many as expected. I have a ‘25 Lariat Hybrid 4K tow.
Tremor is not made for heavy off road but you seem to have found your niche.
What a great little truck! I love my Lariat. Of course I do have a 2016 Mustang convertible to play in.

Don't trade it for anything other than perhaps another Maverick Tremor!

Why?

Because it would be much harder for me to live vicariously through your photos if you were driving something else!

How often do you feel limited by it? Do those limitations matter to you? Can you simply turn around when you hit something you can't clear?

I sold the Maverick and I picked up a Ranger. It's nicer inside, no rattles, and is significantly more capable.

But there are also downsides: doesn't ride as well, can't do really dumb things with it since it's not as planted in corners, the bed is bigger but not as functional, the under seat storage is a joke, etc.

The most limiting factor of a Tremor off road will be ground clearance. It has a slew of traction options and what feels to me like a good suspension. It has a skid plate under the engine transmission, Rival offers a bunch. My Tremor has Goodyear Territory AT/MS rather gnarly looking but quiet and good riding skins.

Along withe ground clearance is tire size, as the wheel wells look limited.
Forgot to list the most important factor, common sense! I take my 2wd into some sketchy stuff but do pay attention!

I think the Tremor is an amazing soft roader. I personally don’t have the skill or desire to outdo its capabilities, as middle of the road they may be. Some people are more comfortable having more headroom than they need and that’s fine too. I say if it’s doing what you ask, keep rocking it. More capable trucks are more $$ lol

The Tremor is more, ‘Truckish’ than any of the other trims no doubt.

I was really happy with my 2024 AWD Lariat Ecoboost. It did all I asked if it. But the Big Frog mountain loop worked it pretty hard.

I really really REALLY like my 2026 Tremor
It does all I ask of it but it does everything better.
Big Frog is no longer a challenge.

The head lights on my 24 & 26 Mavericks and my 2021 Bronco Sport are so dang good I don’t need fog lights.
I have no desire to get any installed.

The yank'em hooks are cooler and we won't talk about how one of mine are a little sideways from the one time I went with the co-workers into some Sequoia National Forest back roads before the snow all melted and we went until I finally got stuck. The stock Tundra got stuck twice before I did. It was an older Tundra and the rear diff lock did not work but still I make it further than a stock Tundra hehe
