Roof to Bed Rails for Fully Supported Load

I built a full size TARDIS years ago for taking to events. The whole thing breaks down into parts and could be flat-packed if I had an 8-foot bed. I have been looking for a rack solution that would allow me to flat-pack the TARDIS on the roof. The longest parts are the corner posts, which come in at about 8 feet.

My preferred option would be an adjustable bed rack that could be extended to be in line with roof rack rails. I have seen some great posts in here with solutions where there is a bed rack that extends over the roof, but I haven't seen any that extend over the roof that are also supported by the roof. Since these parts are long/wide pieces of wood, I really want the area over the roof to be secured to the roof so that the wind isn't going to have the panels lifting and banging against the roof.

Has anyone here used the telescoping Yakima bed rails in conjunction with the roof mounts to have a large flat load supported by the bed and roof?

This is my old Ranger (Maverick has since replaced it) with the 6-foot bed. Even with the bed-extender, it will be a challenge to get the TARDIS in there with any other gear.

It looks like the Yakima HD bed rails might be a good solution if they extend high enough to be inline with roof rails. I could then install both and have fully-supported loads. The ladder rack would be perfect for ladders but the big flat panels will catch air and cause a lot of lift and flex that I really want to eliminate.
