Roof rack recommendations?

Did anyone find the clamps scratch the paint in the door openings? Are the clamps covered with anything or are the painted metal?

I placed Black electrical tape on all surfaces touching the truck paint surface, seems to take care of any scratching issues.

I have used Thule and Yakima clap on on previous cars and never scratched the paint at all.

Not sure what you mean by outdated. The "name brand" roof racks that fit are the same models that have always been produced for naked roofs:

• Yakima BaseLine
• Thule Wingbar Evo or Edge
• Rhino-Rack Vortex

There are a handful of off-brand and sub-brand options, but these are the gold standard and the others are basically variants of these or knockoffs.

I've been looking at these. I have a sunroof, too. I was curious how much they interview with the sunroof...like do they obstruct the view kinda thing? I was thinking of getting a luggage rack for it, too (of course, I know that would be in the way), but I wouldn't keep the rack on all the time just the cross bars...

They are in the field of view, but I have always had roof racks over sunroofs and this is pretty much par for course so I don't find it bothersome. The towers are also high enough to allow the roof to both tilt and slide open without any problems. Also, there is some mild wind noise with ski racks loaded - this will likely happen with a cargo basket as well, but this particular Thule is pretty quiet (almost unnoticeable at say 55mph) with just the bars on.

I'm planning on installing the classic THULE system with rectangular (non aero/wing) crossbars on my new '25 XL.
Antone have a similar set up on their Mav? Is it super noisy?

Wow, three bills now for the budget rack. I will probably put one on the wife's Subaru instead for $70 bucks. I guess side rails for a truck just aren't a thing.
