After 8 months of waiting, I was lied to by my dealership. And with the markup added to the amount of the car I could already get a Tesla. After much consideration, I put in an order for a Tesla Model 3. I will not change my22 to a 23.

Some Pros:
- no smog cuz car is electric
- no gas, electric car only
- 360 camera already
- cruise control
- not cheap materials

Some cons:
- battery life expectancy
- glass top, so I would need $0 deductible on comprehensive coverage

How long is the wait for a Tesla? I have no concept of what sort of wait times they tend to have.

"Not cheap materials" on the pros list is a bit of a weird flex. Perhaps the materials aren't cheap, but they have the fit/finish as though they were assembled at gunpoint.

These two are not competitors. If you were shopping at a dealership that was going to charge you as much for a Maverick as a base Model 3, you should never have waited 8 days much less months.

Congrats on the car. Once Tesla learns how to properly assemble/paint a car, and insurance isn't like 4x what it is on any other vehicle (at least in my state), I might consider one.

One less Maverick ahead of me on August 2, but why was the dealer charging such an exorbitant markup on a special order to make it equal in price to a Tesla and why didn't you see that when you ordered?

My buddy ordered his X in August 2021. Got notification last month(June) that it’ll be built this month(July). So about same timeframe as constrained Mav.

Just called in to another dealership and it's $10K markup regardless if I had an order or not.... crazy....
