The dealership allows the vehicle to be returned within 72 hrs and no more than 300 miles above received milage.

You must have a very good dealership to let you return the vehicle. There is no law that requires to do that however in this case it would be to there advantage. It sounds like you would have been better off with an Eco Boost Maverick.

Not sure about that. Does not the Hybrid use the same variable ratio steering? That seems to be the OP's beef.

I ordered my Maverick XL Hybrid in September 2022 and picked it today. I am returning it tomorrow. The truck drove fine in the city, but 20 minutes on the highway was enough. I don't think the Maverick hybrids are highway vehicles. My father's 1972 bare-bones F100 drove better. I've never been more disappointed in my life.
Apparently you joined today so you could post a whiny complaint. Why are you here telling us this? You aren't asking for advice. You aren't offering suggestions for future buyers. All you are doing is bitching about a truck you bought. Did you really need to do that on a Ford Truck forum? Care to share the dealer's name?

I've found mine very stable and competent at highway speeds, and our roads aren't great. Bet the dealer didn't air down the tires from shipping pressure. Makes any vehicle feel darty or squirrely at highway speeds.

Check the pressures, and set to 35 for another drive. Might make a huge difference.

I meant he would have been better off in terms of power because he felt his old Ford pickup performed better.

Some states do have laws.

It was tiring to drive. The steering is heavy. It feels like there was no power steering and/or it's severely out of alignment. A lot of reviews say it drives more like a car than a truck. Not this one. My expectations weren't high going in knowing that it is an inexpensive vehicle.
A question here: does your XL have CP 360? Sometimes the Keep Lane Assist could give you some of those symptoms if your near a line. Maybe it's incorrectly adjusted - if that's possible. This is not a complaint I've seen anywhere on this forum.

Bare bones XL except for hitch, drop in bed liner, and mud flaps.

My Lariat Hybrids are wonderful. They both were delivered, however, with way over-inflated tires (mid 40s). Still, just firm at that, but nothing to really complain about...and easy to identify with the TPMS.
Since something like 89% of the orders remaining in the Order bank being Hybrids, and lot of Hybrid XL orders won't be delivered, you'll be making someone else very happy by returning it.
