I'm looking to get a Maverick Hybrid on order. The salesman I am currently working with wants a $100 deposit for a reservation, then another $400 to get the order in. This dealer has a good record of honoring MSRP and price protection. Being I want a hybrid, and the potential of this order not getting in like others' 2023 orders, I guess I'm not a fan of $500 down.

Not strapped for $500 but am curious what others have experienced. If others are told they can get an order in with 0 deposit, then I've considered placing more than 1. Just like the lotto :ROFLMAO:.

Further, if anyone does have a guy that'll get their order in for no deposit, or a salesperson they recommend within 3 hours of North Alabama, PM if you don't mind.

Thanks.

As long as the deposit is fully refundable and you have the money why make a big deal out it. More importantly is if the dealer is trustworthy and will deliver at the price agreed upon.

It's not refundable at this location. If people near me have been able to get one in without a deposit, then like I said, I could get more than one in to up my odds. If $500 deposit is pretty much standard, then I just continue on with this 1 order and don't worry about a second.

I’d be concerned about their estimated allocations that Ford has supposedly already given the dealers and where you’d be in their line and at what dealer priority code. Get a feel for that at your dealerships in your area

Thanks.
I used David Agee at Town and Country Ford in Bessemer, AL. Absolutley the best experience I've ever had. Did everything over the phone and email. Didn't step foot into the dealership until the day to take possession of the vehicle. Honored my X-plan and didn't push any of those stupid add-ons. I did put down a refundable $500 deposit. They are taking preorders RIGHT now if you want in before the go-live July 17th date.

I would be leery of a non refundable deposit. Even though you say they have a good track record. Who knows going forward.
There is no way they will get stuck if you bail on the order.

Maybe check around in your area as others have suggested.
