I have noticed that the original equipment Continental tires that are on most Mavericks seem to have a relatively short life. And people often ask what do they suggest replacing them with. I have a suggestion. My 2025 hybrid all-wheel drive with the black appearance package came from the factory with Goodyear Wrangler territory HT tires. I am more than satisfied with them. I have 42,000 MI on my truck. And I still have what appears to be half my tread life left. They come from the factory with deep tread. And they wear slowly. When my truck had over 30,000 miles on it, I noticed that my tread depth was about the same as a brand new Maverick with the Continentals. I think these tires last even longer than the common michelins. The Treadwell number on the side of the tire is 680. I know that's not an absolute predictor of tread life. But it is a nice comparison tool. When it is time for me to get new tires, I am definitely going back with them. I also think that Ford May me having a type of sale or rebate with these tires right now. I'm not 100% sure of that though. But I am sure that those tires are Good tires for an AWD hybrid if long life is the priority

I completely agree with using the Goodyear Territory HT tires. That is what our Lariat came with and I expect to put them on when these are worn, if they continue to make me happy.

The Goodyear tires have about 11/32" tread depth when new, and mine at 16,000 kms (about 13,000 kms of it on the Goodyears) are still about that.

For winter we do have a set of steelies with Michelin winter tires though...but the Goodyears would be fine in a much milder winter area.

That said, no one tire will satisfy everyone's use case every time...so evaluate what you expect from a tire and choose wisely.

Have a great day,

Andy

Exactly! I live in North (Tallahassee) Florida, so snow and ice are not an issue. In the super rare once a decade snow, we stay home 😂. I don't do any serious off roading other than an occasional muddy driveway. And I drive 40,000 miles yearly. So tread life /wet weather traction is my number 1 priority. Price is number 2. The Territory HT tires seem to meet both those requirements. If I did more off road driving, I'm sure my priorities would be different,

Your (and my) use case fits this HT (Highway Terrain, for anyone that is wondering what the letters mean) perfectly.

My use as well (but not the miles you do) is mainly highway/city roads as well as the occasional dirt roads for going fishing or visiting family...nothing gnarly or challenging...just get in and out with no fuss or drama.

Performance needs, off roading needs etc means look at a different tire!

Cheers

Andy

Only about 3,000 miles on the tires but so far I’m really liking the Goodyears.

I also like them. They're quiet, comfortable, OK in rain and seem to be good for fuel economy. I also like that Goodyear made custom molds for the 19" Maverick size, with bigger lugs on the sidewall that makes them look almost like an A/T tire.

PS if you like them, watch FB marketplace for "take-off" tires and / or wheel + tire packages. Some ppl hate the 19s or they want an A/T tire so they'll unload the OEM setup for CHEAP! I lowballed and paid the equivalent of $400 USD for a BRAND NEW set of BAP 19" wheels + tires + TPMS sensors. Seller hated 19s, wanted 17s with fat A/T tires on his truck. He didn't have room so he wanted the OEM wheels & tires GONE

Dang, that's a good deal right there!

Gotta love when something comes up like that...and when you are looking for them.

Have a good day,

Andy

With any tire, my first question is "how long do they last?😂 . Even if I had to get an all terrain tire, longevity would be my priority. At 40,000 miles/year anything else is secondary

Tread life? Having asked that question, I believe that any tire a person is happy with is the best tire for them. After all it's their vehicle. Ride and let ride,😅

I have a set of the 19" Goodyear Wrangler HT's with about 3k easy miles on them that I'll part with for any reasonable offer for anyone that'll pick up from South Central PA.

Replaced them with Michelin CrossClimate2's due to my job requiring attendance in all weather.

I agree that the Goodyear's are very good tires for the Mav... I just needed something with a severe snow service rating.

My wife's Bronco Sport has the same Continental tires as I have on my XL Hybrid AWD and she is pushing out to 35K miles with about 4/32" tread remaining. I will probably replace them before winter but am hoping to get the same on my Maverick.
