I installed the window visors and liked them at first. After a while I got tired of only being able to see half of my passenger mirror. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to remove them. I actually like the windows better without them.

I for the life of me couldn't see why anybody would want the matte versions. Kind of like smoked out tail lights or headlights.

Even the smoked ones limit it significantly, especially if you already have tint. I had to take mine off because the DS window was rubbing really bad and would disable the auto up thing then roll the window back own on it's own about 75% of the way, and if I wanted to auto up again I'd have to roll it the rest of the way down first. Plus, the scratching. Wow, it's honestly pretty bad and not something I've ever noticed on a vehicle before.

So yea, mine are off too. I can not bring myself to install the exterior ones I already bought. I hate them so much lol. But eventually function over form will force my install.

But just removing them and having that portion of the mirror back, I had to adjust both of them inwards more lol. It feels so weird having that much mirror again.

Previously I had some matte ones on a Tacoma and they didn't go into that section, so they never bothered me, but I was still never very fond of the matte. I think it looks great on the Mavericks, probably better than the smoked.

I wish the LUND exterior ones came in matte. Instead I got the AVS exterior versions as all the other exterior ones are cheap knock offs that won't fit properly and you take a risk buying. So EGR (only in channel), AVS (both), or LUND (exterior) for the window visors if you are looking for alternatives.

What's the point of the window visors anyway? Just so you can smoke cigarettes while it's raining? I legitimately don't understand the purpose in this day and age when the AC works as well as it does?

This☝️ They always give me the perception that the windows are much smaller, when riding in a vehicle that has them - especially if the glass is tinted.

And if they were installed so you can crack the windows open when parked, cracking windows will get rid of some hot air, but not radiant heat from the sun, which is what heats up the seats & dash. Other than parking out of the sun, the best heat reducer is Ceramic IR-reducing window film and a windshield sun-shade. And Ceramic film doesn't even have to be dark tint to get rid of most of the IR heat gain in the truck's seats, steering wheel and dash.

And you can buy IR Ceramic tint for windshield that has 5% or less visual blocked (I think the 5% is mainly to CA in case there is any visible blocked or not).

Had them on my Blazer. Didn't care for them. And with the windows open the wind noise they generated while driving was annoying.

I installed mine higher for cracking to release heat and noxious material vapors. No it doesn't release all the heat, but it does allow fresh air while keeping out the rain. They do not block my PS rearview mirror, as I have it set correctly.
I am going to check on the ceramic film for the windows, and buy a front window shade.

My driver and passenger side windows are not Darkly tinted. Also illegal.
In fall, winter and spring from about 11:00 to 1:00, 2:00 the sun is not directly overhead which means the roof is not providing shade, but the window vents do. (Picture coming)
During the 110°+ of summer. I can roll the windows down letting so ventilation occur and keeping rain out, without the windows appearing to be open..
Too say we have dust here in the desert is an understatement.
If it's been particularly windy. I take the time to wipe the window channels out and the top of the window, so that the grit does not scratch the windows. I've never experienced scratched windows from the in the channel window vents. Maybe due to the fact that I've used in-channel window vents for well over 30 years. Plus living in the desert dust happens. I've realized it takes little extra care in keeping the window channel clean.
When I have the driver's window down. The vent helps with the wind turbulence from the mirror.
As far passenger side mirror visibility loss here is "fossil's" picture of exactly how much is blocked.

I have A/C.
I am glad I have adjustable sun visors too.
Never smoked.

Seems like a lot of ugly for a problem that is solved with the air conditioner? Just remote start the truck and wait a few minutes?
