Update:My purchase/install of the Ford ‘REV Industries’ REV HARD ROLL UP TONNEAU BED COVER.
I'm attaching a PDF file with the details of my impressions and install details. Sending in PDF format because I wrote it up in a page layout app, and it is much easier to do it this way when you have a number of detailed photos.
Spent almost as much time writing this up as it did to install the product. Hope it helps others to find it easier to do, and makes them aware of the shortcomings. . Also hope word gets back to someone in the Ford officialdom that their product, as received, does not measure up in details when compared to the product sold by the company that manufactures this for them.

Purchased the cover through accessories.ford.com February 10, 2022. Picked up conversation on February 16, 2022.
Installed cover and had good service until it got hot a few months later.
The adhesive holding the felt straps, to the underside, that protect your hands from touching the hot bare aluminum, and keeps you from pinching your fingers in the roll up joints when you roll the cover back will not hold. On hot days the felt separates from the aluminum and falls off. Last summer felt slipped and slid when rolling up, but was able to realign while it was still hot.
No problems during cooler weather, but this summer the felt will not stay in place. This creates a hazardous condition when trying to use the cover after the felt has detached from the aluminum.
Believe the cover is supplied to Ford by Bak Industries (the model is the Bak Revolver X4). It seems Bak addressed the problem by swapping the felt for molded plastic pieces to serve the same purpose, and read that some Maverick owners have received the updated version of the cover as a warranty replacement due to the failure of the felt adhesive.
Earlier X2 units had issues with the felt padding used on the underside as a heat shield to keep from burning your hand when rolling the cover open/closed. The problem occurred during periods of high temps caused the aluminum panels to get so hot, it caused the adhesive, used to attach the felt, to loosen and slide, often completely coming off the panel.
The later versions corrected this by replacing the heat shield felt with a rubber like material that is bonded to the panels. According to the BAK rep I spoke with, the cover supplied to FORD is supposed to have the latter type heat shield material.
My cover did not have the newer type material.
While at my dealer for regular service yesterday, asked the service adviser about this problem, says the cover is only warranted for two years, and suggested I call Ford Customer Care. Did so but was not connected to anyone, just a dead silence. Will try again today, and hope for a positive outcome. Do like the cover, but this problem needs to be addressed. Feel early purchasers should not have to deal with a known issue.
