Recommendations for a USB connected CD player

USB with music doesn't work that way, unfortunately. The system reads the file contents and plays and indexes the individual files.

CD players with uSB are for computers to use as a device with drivers. The Maverick does not interface that way.

Your best bet would be to get an FM transmitter with 3.5mm audio plug input and run the headphone/audio output of the cd player into the input of the transmitter, which will then transmit the music on an FM channel that you tune the radio to. (Apparently, there are some that use Bluetooth instead of FM radio).

sigh, i feel so old sometimes. i've seen 8 tracks ; CB radios ; cassette players ; and now CD players all go the way of the dinosaurs. i eagerly look forward to the next 'new thing' so long as they keep the regular AM/FM radios standard

@Redline Well, there's that...and then you run into the person with the car that has CDs all over the place. On the visors, in every storage location, all mismatched, some damaged from dropping on the floor, etc. Back before I had Pandora (free) I often just packed a ton of music on USB thumb drives, and placed in the USB port. This dates back to the days I had a Ford Contour, the first car I had with a USB port.
