A question…my Maverick one subject to the windshield wiper motor and back up video/screen freeze recalls. Monday, have appt with local dealer to address the wiper motor. So that, hopefully, would be addressed, cleared.

So far, to date, not seeing any issues on a screen video freeze. Understand that dealers advise to not sell any Maverick until a software fix prepped, and applied. So my question is if my screen unit has no hiccup, performing satisfactory, if I accept as is, not address the recall, will there be any ramifications if I do nothing?

Are you talking about the Maverick you already have? If so then no, just keep driving it until they find a solution for to fix it.

Be wary of the backup camera. I was backing up in the lumber yard around a box truck. The screen glitched (froze momentarily) without me realizing it and I hit the back corner of the truck with my taillight. It took months before I realized it was the camera and not me.

Yes, the one I have now. I need to add…if screen ok, and Ford has a fix, should I just keep going?

Until the fix is done, rely on your mirrors and looking back where you're going. Use the camera as a supplemental aid only.

It may affect resale value because franchised dealerships cannot sell vehicles with open recalls. So when they run the VIN and see that the recall was never done, they might give you less money for it because that means they now can't sell the car until they do the recall.

Also recall campaigns are open for about ten years. Beyond that, if a recall was never done and the campaign closed, it'll make the vehicle less desirable for someone to purchase. Granted, anything will sell for the right price. I bought a lemon-law buyback for a song because, well, it was permanently branded as a lemon-law buyback.

Until the fix is done, rely on your mirrors and looking back where you're going. Use the camera as a supplemental aid only.
You shouldn't rely on any one source anyway, be it using mirrors, looking out the back window, using the camera, listening for the reverse sensing system, or cross-traffic alert indicators. Using the camera as a supplement should be normal use, hence why it says "Check surroundings for safety".

I had mine freeze at a kids sporting event with a ton of people in parking lot. Yes , mirrors work always but regardless it was rather crappy.

Can't wait for the fix.

Correct.

Cowboys are in town.
My trucklett with the big boys. And that's why I didn't bring the F350.
I backed in because I didn't want to back out.

More trucks behind me.
It's a Parking Garage, constant truck/car cross traffic for the rodeo. If I had pulled in, I would be backing out blind without a camera. Mirrors are useless in this situation.
