Not in the loop with what’s happening here but are there others with flaking paint ?

I’ve been real happy with overall build quality of my truck except for the paint

just in case anyone read my leaf stain thread. No this isn’t where I had those stains.

Nothing about a recall at this time.

That said, paint is under warranty for either 12 months/12,000 miles (environmental fallout) or 36 months/36,000 miles (manufacturing defect, bumper-to-bumper). Definitely make an appointment to bring it in to the dealer to look at getting this covered under warranty.

The first photo does look like a paint adhesion issue (A closer photo would help), the second photo looks to be damage from a carwash, the third looks like damage from either the carwash or road debris, there's a small scrape on the leading edge of the front most chip. I had a carwash damage the paint on my Escape exactly like in your second photo and they refused to repair due to signage relieving them from damage liability. $400 later to repair the paint and I now never use car washes unless they are touchless.

Actually on second thought, your fender is bent in the first photo which would explain why the paint is lifted. Looks to be like some kind of collision happened.............

Your second pic is from someone scraping something. Look at all the scratches on the leading piece. No way that came from Ford that way. If it did you should refused the truck upon inspection. I remember back in the 90s when Ford paint was horrendous at best, and they didn't do any recalls. So I doubt you will see any now.

I'm more concerned about all those massive swirls/scratches in the lower half of photo number two. That looks like my black 2012 Subaru after about ~100 brush based car washes.....

Wow! my carbo grey XLT has no issues with the paint, although some members have reported paint issues where bumper covers meets the fenders.

Exactly, I mentioned car wash in my response because I can only think of one thing that would make symmetric oblong marks like that which repeat and look to be spaced out evenly, a swirling brush on a car-wash.

Good point, was initially focused more on the paint chipping that can sometimes happen when two panels rub against each other. If it's not from environmental damage or manufacturing defect, you're unfortunately on your own without enough to justify an insurance claim, especially one where you can't ID who caused the damage.

All I see is damage done to the body then paint coming off because of it. There's more to the story than just paint "flaking off".. from my observation anyway.
Yep, I see some other "damage" in the third pic; more to the story than meets the eye.

Seemingly, someone scraped against the side of it... Or it was brushed against something while driving. Or it was in a bad carwash.

:(
