Recall (Campaign 26E04) issued July 2026 - Powertrain Control Module - Software update needed.

I just checked my Ford app and I have this recall showing for my 25 Hybrid... I wonder if this is the AWD update for the 25 Hybrids. Ford did say they would be pushing an update out to make it act the same as the 26 AWD system.

Have you heard any info on the awd update its the one im super interested in

Today, went to the dentist. While waiting to be seen, I was looking through my phone and noticed in my Ford app that the recall notice was gone and it showed no active recalls.

hmmmm… I didn’t do anything to it.

ok that is weird. my Ford pass App did the same thing.

now its showing 0 active reclass with a green checkmark.

Totally agree, this is what happens when you lay off all your experienced people, then have to hire newbies to replace them three years later when your experiment fails. It likely doesn’t help that most of these types of fixes are often rushed to keep costs down.

Agree 100%, plus in addition to that, many are off shore and third party software developers/programmers.

no, not OTA. Last time Ford did an OTA update, they gave us warning. also, my updates screen still shows the bottom pic as my last update.

This must have been pushed out as a mistake.... So the Ford recall notification was recalled? does that count as another recall?

i turned my car on this morning and got notification that this Trailer recall would be updated OTA at 1 am this morning and my car would be unavailable for 10 minutes. it was giving me the option to reschedule if i wanted too. i will follow up if its done.

edit. just out of curiosity, i went down to my Maverick to see if the notification would show up again, and sure enough it did. i attached a pic. since i dont have a trailer...this is 1 recall that could wait.

good news...heres the followup. recall updated without a hitch. my MyView settings were reset. i havent checked to see if all my manually adjusted options were reset. my Am?FM Radio presets were still how i set them. my wireless Apple Carplay worked normal. here is todays pic

I asked on another comment of yours. What "failed" on your module?

Sorry, I missed your comment. As I was towing the trailer on the highway (trailer is three years old), a message appeared on the Driver Information screen telling me that the trailer module had failed and that I should take it to the dealer. You lose turn signals and brake light functions.
The powertrain module recall is something different - this affects vehicles with the trailer tow option. I think the repair is software as the 25 and 26 model years have different software and can be fixed OTA.

My 25 Maverick Lariat Hybrid was on the recall list when I checked my Ford app. The message stated: POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE.
It took a couple of minutes to schedule an appointment with the dealership online. Hope it's a quick update.

My 25 Lariat Hybrid also showed in the Ford app that it needed the same recall update. 3 days later that recall has disappeared from my Ford app. Not sure why this happened? Anyone else view this disappearance?
