The bad batch of EGR valves that made it to multiple production lines has a very low failure rate. Less than 1% of 1% supposedly. How they discovered & calculated that percentage is impressive in itself.
Seems the EGR Valve (ie āpoppetā) can break - opening the intake to too much exhaust. āTeachingā the ECU to predict a pending failure will be a challenge for the engineersā¦
