Rear shock boot keeps falling down on 2023 Maverick Hybrid XLT. How does strut boot attach to stop of shock? Is it a compression fitting?
Sure the truck may be returned to dealer for fix, this should be an easy self fix if I know what the problem is and a part did not fall off or fail.

*edit strut to shock

I'm assuming you mean the rear shock. How is the boot failing? Is it unattached and sliding down loose over the body of the shock?

I push dust cover back into place, then it falls down again when driving.

It probably slipped out of the clamp/bracket.

There's always the most often redneck hack I've seen on here. Get out the old Kitchen and Bath silicone sealant. Just kidding. Kind of.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1st thing I’d do is spread that clamp, shove the cover back up in there, tighten the clamp real good,
Then yank down on the cover. If it stays yer good.
If not I go to the other side and have a look see.

There's no clamp holding it in place, it's just the friction of the foam bottom-out bumper material that is sandwiched between the boot and shaft that holds it there. The foam is the yellow/orange material shown in the pictures above.

I'd recommend putting a zip tie around the boot at the top to apply some pressure to the foam bumper and give it more pressure against the shock shaft, then slide it back up into place. Before you do that, clean the shaft with some alcohol to be sure there's no oil film on the shaft. If there's a lot of oil there, you need to check for a leaky shock and get it replaced.

I’d shy away from zip ties or baling wire. That’s how you fix a Harley. But Idud wirk.

Why fix it yourself? Just get the dealership to replace it under warranty.
Because, IMO, spending five cents on a zip tie is cheaper than the time spent with the dealership.

Nearly every performance truck shock made uses a zip tie to attach the boot to the body of the shock from the factory. It's good enough for Bilstein, Rancho or a Harley, but not good enough for a Ford?

Do what you want obviously @1929, but I'd have that boot fixed back in place in 30 seconds.
