Rear seatback problem

I raised the rear seat to get into the storage area. Now the seat will not return to the seated position. Is there a latch or something holding it in the upward position? I'm not finding one.

Yes there is a latch.
Pull the same strap that you used when you raise the seat. Pull it up it'll unlatch it, so you can put the seat down.

I have done that. The seat doesn't budge. (I have opened it in the past with no problem.)

You can try pushing backward on the seat towards the back of the truck while pulling up on the strap.

Thank you! I got it back down. It appeared that one of the seatbelt receptacles was tangled in a way that was holding it in the upright position. Thanks again for your help. Occasionally the internet leads to something useful!

My bench seat is fine.
The upper i can't latch. Looked at latch contraption, can't figure it out. Luckily noone sits back there. Maybeeee they'll look at it at my next quick lane in 800 miles.

I believe I know what the problem is.
