Rear Seat Weight Sensitive

Anyone else's rear seat center alert over sensitive? My rear seatbelt warning in the center keeps going off when my kid is in the actual passenger rear seat. Does use a backless booster. I just clipped the belt in cause, whatever but it's a bit annoying. Doubt there's anything really wrong with the car as the belt monitor doesn't go off when no one is sitting back there, just that the sensor is a bit touchy. Am I the only one, or do other folks with kids have this issue?

We have had ours go off when we put groceries in the back seat. Had it go off when the pup got in the front passenger seat last week. Mr. Toby now has to wear a seat belt when he rides in front LOL.

Same. My middle seatbelt warning also goes off if I have two adults in the back seat. I have not done anything about it yet. I've only had my truck for two months. They just buckeled it up, but then it interfers slightly with the center fold down arm rest.

I have two kids in backless boosters and I do not think I have ever had the center weight sensor activate. If I were you, I would probably just keep the center belt buckled (like you are doing).

I have a 65 pound dog that free ranges the back seat almost every day and it’s never gone off in the 7 months of ownership..

I solved that problem by having an XL without a fold down

I picked up a 23 hybrid xlt a month ago and I noticed this issue too. When I have rear passenger(s), never anyone in the rear middle, the rear center seat warning keep going off. This may be a 2023 feature/issue. I had a 22 hybrid xlt, the screen doesn't even have a rear center image, so I assume there's no center sensor there either and now the 23 has sensor and graphics for the rear middle?

Never had this problem before. Don’t have kids, or a big dog, but occasionally put something heavier than 10lbs back there without issue.

This safety system defect happens to our 2023 xlt maverick all the time and many times without someone in the backseat at all. We have to keep the middle rear seat belt fastened most of the time to make the warning go away. Is this a known issue with Ford and do they have a fix?

My 23 xlt does this also. We did discover that sometimes when someone is sitting in the back they would put the seatbelt into the center buckle and that causes the seatbelt warning to go off which is weird.

Any solutions on this? I have kids in the back on rare occasion. But the middle seat seatbelt warning always triggers. ‘23 hybrid xlt.

They make seat belt buckles you can stick in there with no belt.

That's weird though- wonder if dealer would have any sort of fix for it. Definitely a warranty type thing!

My center seatbelt warning sometimes goes off when the grandkids put their backpack(s) on the seat next to them. They carry lots of books and junk in those backpacks. I just had them buckle the seatbelt, problem solved.
