Rear ended, frame damage?

Any update on what happened? I was recently rear ended and I’m dreading a total loss since it is fully paid off and I’m sure they will low ball me.

Yes, my truck was declared a total loss because of the high costs and the amount of work involved in repairing it.


The insurance company gave me a new one.

I’ve asked the body shop to send me some. Body shop estimate came in at over $21k to repair so that means totaled. The sad thing is you have to be really close to even noticed the damage. He hit the hitch dead on.

i’m going to start looking at the 26s this weekend. I see that now they’re all all-wheel-drive in the Lariats. I’m not sure how I feel about that yet.

Below is a picture of the boron steel member that has to be replaced.

I wonder how much of a weight savings there is over the same structure being made out of mild *repairable Steel.

* I fully realize that even mild steel once bent and repaired. Is not going to have the original strength as it did before the repair.
