I've searched but yet to find a definitive answer. I have the LUX package factory rear bed LED light. I push the button, shut it off but later or next day I find it is on again. I know I must be doing something, but not sure what it is yet.

I haven't tested the thought, and with a tonneau wouldn't notice, but doesn't it light with the upper cab cargo light when unlocking/locking the truck? - Not positive, but something tells me it might, even if you've pressed the button to turn it off.

If it does, I wouldn't notice with the tonneau and tailgate gasket installed to help weather proof the bed, unless I open the tonneau or tailgate. I just seem to remember it might, from before the tonneau was installed.

Not sure but I expect it to be on the courtesy lamp delay circuit which is reset to on each time you power up your truck. Try going into settings, lamp, courtesy and set to off. If it's on that circuit it should turn off with whatever time delay you have.

You guys rock!! That was it alright. I was just not giving it enough time, the timer was set for 2 minutes. I changed it to 20 seconds.

Glad you sorted that out.

As an aside. I was playing around with the cargo light button on my XLT so we could see the funny faces my dog was making in the back window. It turns out every time you drive or touch the brakes the cargo light will turn off. Kinda wish it stayed on. I know in a 91 Ranger I had I used to turn that light on to flash people who were tailgating or riding me with their high beams. Ohh well, I installed some blue lights in my topper last night. I can leave those on while driving and its not too bright. I just need to rig up a cabin control switch for them.

Aha, I thought it odd that Ford did not include an indicator light for the Cargo Light switch. I was thinking how easy it would be to be driving and have that light on and not know it. I see that is not the case. :ROFLMAO:

Years ago I had a '67 Willy's Jeep Wagoneer with manual back up lights. The reverse switch had gone bad so someone wired it manually. I installed a little pilot light as we used to call them so I would not forget to leave them on. It came in handy thanking truckers when they would flash their headlights to let you know it was clear to pull back in on the Interstate. Great times in that old Willy's tank. Never missed a day of work in the winter with that Willy's and there were some bad ones. .

I miss interstate driving. I guess I have to settle for tropical sunset driving.

Following, my wife noted the other day the light didn't come on when we open the tailgate like it usually does.
