I would really like to have you alls honest experience with real world gas mileage and performance. Regardless of which motor you have please tell me what you have experienced and what kind of conditions or abuse you pute the mave through.

There is no "real world" gas mileage. Every user is unique and none will exactly match yours. EPA rating will give you the best comparison. That said. There are a bunch of threads with Maverick owners posting their mpgs.

Exactly. Different driving style , terrain and traffic will all vary the MPG a lot. But the EPA ratings will show the difference between the two regardless of who is driving.

As far as I'm concerned good gas milage IS performance. I've test driven the hybrid in the Maverick and the SUV. I'd describe it as totally adequate. I test drove the 2.0 and it's a little faster. Just for me, the only reason I'd get the turbo is for heavy towing.
I have a motorcycle and a Miata when I want to get spirited.
I don't have my Maverick yet so there's that.

After 6700 miles, my overall mileage is 38.8 mpg. That includes a 2,000-mile-trip driving mostly 4-lane highways at 71 mph up there and coming back at 77 mph. Before that long trip, just driving around town, was averaging north of 42 mpg. I leave my AC set at 76 degrees on the lowest auto setting here in Florida, and most of the time, that setting actually feels more like 72 degrees to me.

Hybrid, 46mpg, 90% in town, recent 250 mile all hiway trip 70-80mph got 37mpg. Very happy with Hybrid. Unless you need to tow often and over 2000 lbs, go hybrid. A/C on all the time.

I have 6800 miles on my hybrid. I use Eco all the time. My driving is 70/30 city/freeway and I am getting 43.5. I’m light on the gas most of the time. I reserve the right to flex on some fools. The Mav has nice acceleration too!

I am at 4k miles with my AWD Fx4, I am getting a little over 30mpg, mostly freeway driving, normally drive about 73-75mph, although I’m pretty light on the gas if I’m not playing around

Mainly 80/20 freeway/city driving. I cruise at around 70mph on freeway

I have been consistently averaging 41-42 mgp and over 530 miles per tank.

I get an average 39 MPG so far in mixed driving. AC always on.

So looks like folks are consistently getting 38-43 MPG.

Mileage like a Honda Civic or Honda Fit in a much more flexible vehicle, for similar money, that I don’t have to struggle to get in and out of. And it can pull any of my three little boats, including the little pontoon.

At over 7000 miles now. Averaging over 38. I also have pulled a trailer for at least 1000 of those miles and averaged anywhere from 23 to 31 in both highway and local driving with a trailer depending how heavy.

Just bouncing around town? I can hit 50 with regularity. Usual highway seems to be about 35-36 be straight city driving is mid to high 40s.

Weather plays a big factor. In winter I only started with mid 30s around town. Basically, don't run the heat UNTIL the engine is warm already. Because the truck WILL run the gas engine to get it warm from the moment you turn the heater on to get it hot. It's a waste of fuel. It will warm up through general driving on its own in a couple of minutes.

In summer now? If I'm sitting in the truck I'll run the ac even parked. So the mpg has come down a few. But still even while waiting at a store for someone to run in, the engine only runs a couple minutes and then is off for about 5-10 before starting again. So definitely more efficient than an eco boost would be.

Unless you need awd or tow extensively or need the 4k or run almost all highway miles and are never driving around a town below 45, get the hybrid.

Yes, mine is a Hybrid. Was built in early January I believe. Acceleration is perfectly fine. The truck can pass going uphill on the Ozarks Mountain highways. And that is driving strictly in Normal or Eco mode. In Sport mode, it has even more 'get up and go.'
