It would help if you were to post your year, make and model. You might get more help that way. Is it a hybrid or a echo?

Sounds like you've done a visual. I'd like to go under there with a torque wrench, but I'm lazy. There is some rattling at low speed especially passenger side, it's probably control arm bushings. Mobile mechanic says all is good. Just kinda a clunker Ford sound apparently.

I have owned 2 Hybrids so far and from the factory there was no rattling suspension, however after about 5k miles they both developed rattling on the passenger side.

I tore into the end links and heres what I discovered(i know I should have taken a pic). The end link nut on the strut side is moving and not pinching the end link bolt, the strut where the end link mounts is not pinching and moves. I tighten it up and sure enough stopped popping noise. However after driving it has loosed up again. I had a set of new end links but didn't install because you have to loosen strut's bolts at the knuckes and I wasn't to keen to throw out factory alignment.

So I have to revisit and try a different approach to try and pinch end link bolt to strut mount. Maybe a lock washer? Or just bite the bullet and pull bottom strut mounting bolts and replace end links.

The end link nut is also different, because it has a nut with a shoulder on it inside the internal threads, its not threaded all the way. Maybe that's why it can't supply necessary clamping force? Next time i rotate tires I will tear off into it again.

I have just under 18K on my Hybrid '24 XL and I've noticed a rattle too. Can't tell if it's coming from the dash/windshield or the driver side strut area. Interestingly, it doesn't appear to be directly related to body movement as I don't hear the rattle on smooth roads or gravel country roads but on crummy asphalt roads. Trying different speeds to see if it's a resonance thing, so far inconclusive.. well needs speeds higher than i want to have my head out of the window for...

@Brian_J - How hard was it to convince the dealer to do those repairs under warranty? I didn't spring for the extended warranty, so I don't want to get hammered with dealer diagnostic prices, but I don't want to let a small issue become a big issue either.

@Bigberm any update on your issues?

i was in my warranty window for my issues. no problem getting them to look into them. i had to take someone with me on a test ride to point out the exact noise i was hearing (for the washer fluid bottle). both the stab link and the shock absorber were diagnosed by the dealer.
