Twice in the last week the screen on my 24 XL froze while using the radio. First time, the entire screen froze and couldn't be used at all, until turning the truck off and back on. 2nd time, while listening to music on a flash drive, it froze but I could cycle through other screens. Then after about a minute it rebooted on it's own and worked ok, but it restarted on the first song I'd played nearly an hour before. The truck has had the screen recall work done before I got it. Any ideas what's happening, and any suggestions how to deal in future?

Well that’s disappointing as I was hoping the screen/camera recall would address some of the stereo issues.

I saw that people had trouble in the past, I wonder if this is the same, or something new. Maybe related to the recall fix?

Take it to your dealer and complain. It's covered under warranty and could be a simple software upgrade or faulty hardware; Ford needs to determine the cause.

Happened a few times in my f-150. Usually was a software update. You can unfreeze them usually by holding the power button along with the track forward and track back button at the same time until the screen restarts.

It’s been a consistent issue in my Maverick and there are many threads created here around radio issues ranging from popping, freezing, CarPlay and Bluetooth problems. You name it, someone has experienced it unfortunately with the XLT or XL stereo.

Reboot it to clear out the cache and possibly corrupted data.

Hold the Power & skip forward buttons until the screen goes black and reboots.
