Radio firmware update!

When mine got stuck for more than 10 minutes at the same percentage, I just started again.

How do you restart it?

I disconnected the Wi-Fi and nothing.

Also turned truck off and restarted that didn’t work either.

Been stuck at 94% for over 25 mins.

I even prioritized the Mav’s connection on my home network.

Been 3 hours and 38 mins.

Now I have hungry kids and an angry wife waiting too since I have been sitting in the truck this whole time. Burning $3.75 a gallon gas too…

Make sure you finish it. I did it a few weeks ago and it got stuck at 12 percent. Said fuck it and went back inside for the night. Next day battery was dead.

Try connecting to your phone ad a Hotspot. Works very well.

From what I have seen, appears to be no direct option for non Sync 3 radios.








Depending on which version of firmware this is, here is a screen cap from a Discord forum with the changes to the existing firmware 1.8.0

This firmware version G1.8.0.1_TC15_R21461a is exactly the same as to what came with my Maverick Hybrid that was build 11/29 and shipped 11/30.

So this firmware is not new.

If you do have older firmware it is a good idea to update as it fixes many of the radio issues.

It's chugging right along...not having any issues, it's now 100% took less than 5 minutes using the Maverick wifi. Its installing now 100% complete. It didn't mess up my Wireless Android auto either, Woop!

I did a master reset on my radio and the download went thru fine.

Mine sat at 100% for about 2 minutes then finally started install. Download was about 8 minutes on my crappy dsl connection.

I am definitely thinking it’s the Mav! We have cable internet service and the WiFi router is in the garage with the demarcation line there too. So can’t get much closer to the connection Unless I plug the truck into it. Lol

Is there no option to update with a thumb drive? My Sonata could be, using a compressed file from the MyHyundai website.

You can indeed choose to update via thumb drive for most updates (some require install using a programming head at the dealership). Check the Ford.com website for more information.
