They haven't totally closed ordering like they did for the 2022/2034 model years. As Waterick & Gray Goose stated above, dealership allocations play a key role. As does finding dealership personnel that can enter an order correctly and ongoing trim-level/option constraints.
Adding the 3rd shift has really helped increase the factory's yearly production (still shared with the Bronco Sport). There's still more demand than they can produce month-to-month, which leads to longer than normal order-to-delivery times.
The journey to getting a Maverick optioned exactly the way you want at a fair price still has many potential potholes.
