Haven't had the need . rarely raise it at all...
Same here. Never even thought of doing that. I consider that space to be like attic storage, and only put stuff under there that is rarely needed; like a jump box, center rear seat headrest, fuel filler funnel, etc.

Not a maverick, but I left the rear seat up 98% of the time for over ten years on my F150 and had zero problems. The rear seats still looked brand new when I traded it in.

It works just fine. Question is for what might happen 2-3 years down the line.
I know the parts could be replaced either new or salvage. Just curious if anyone has had problems. The posts about the seat not staying latched in the down position made me think of asking the group.
I'd be bungee cording that up. Just doesn't feel that secure to be drivinng with it up all the time. Beyyer safe than sorry.

Majority of the time I don't have rear seat passengers. I often leave the rear seat bottom raised for access to gloves and tie downs stored underneath. For the long time owners has anyone else driven for an extended time with the rear seat raised. Does it cause extra wear/strain on the latch so that the seat won't stay latched in the up position?
Not interested in removing the seat as some have done. I have a rear seat passenger often enough to make that impractical.
I would never in my life have even thought about that. Scat in those storage compartments would just be projectile missiles in a crash 💥

I go shopping for small amounts of groceries about once a week. I like the fact I can lift the seat and contain items in the bucket shape on the driver's side. If filled, I use the floorboard area in front of the under-seat bucket. In summer months great to keep watermelon from rolling around and/or gallon jug of milk. Sometimes when I get home, and unload, I forget and leave it up. I would rather put stuff under the seat or on floorboard than on top of the seat. My kids are grown and gone, and I have no pets. Rear seat looks new.

Mechanism after 3 years appears to work as new. I am not worried about the frame wearing out. If it does, I will prop it up with a stick maybe years from now. Not planning on replacing the truck. Extended warranty goes to 2031.
