Pardon the dumb question. I've seen several posts on leveling kits being installed. Some look good some look crappy but other than lifting the vehicle one inch or two is there any other purpose? Does the Maverick not come level from the factory? I'm just looking over any options I may be installing on mine once I get it.

always higher in the rear end from factory. Parts to level are low for front end but labor to install high

I don't know that it would cost all that much to install and not a hard job to install the front level kit yourself.

Typically trucks come with some rake forward so that if heavy weight in the bed or a trailer is used, the rear settles. A leveling kit is 100% for looks so that the gap between wheels and wheel wells appears even with no load.

Most can install the kit, just be sure to have an alignment done, especially on AWD.

Not a dumb question at all, and the answer is you don't need one. Vehicles go through a lot of testing and are engineered the way they are for a reason. If you want to tweak things fine, but adding kits like this isn't likely to improve anything and usually adversely affects both handling and resale value.

I think if I were going to level my truck, I'd pull the back end down a little rather than lift the front. Heck, I might even lower the front an inch as well. I pretty much never haul anything heavy or drive off of the pavement.

The only detriment is if you plan to tow with a 4k option having the level will further lift/take weight off the front and can effect steering and braking especially in bad weather. If you don't plan to use the towing to it's limit then it should be no issue.

all trucks are raked higher in the back to compensate for a load. Dont get the leveling thing either.

I got AAL's and coilovers on my Tacoma to clear 35's but same lift front and back. Not planning anything on the Mav except winter tires. Bought it so I can ride smooth and get good mpg on occasion. Why fu%$ that up?

Levelling kits personally make the truck look gross to me. I love a slight California rake!

Because it looks better level. :ROFLMAO: Some like it some don't, I don't care for the look of a raked truck. I always go form over function on my vehicles and motorcycles.
