PSA: Torx Plus fasteners in your Maverick's bed

Well I plan to install my recently delivered Bedrug in the next day or two, and may remount the two D-rings on TOP of the forward end, so I’ll make a note to check the thread size on those bolts, but I’ll remove the other two sizes of torx plus and measure those too, and update all the sizes here for you.

You don't need to remove the D rings with a Bedrug. There are slots cut in it to allow D rings to protrude through. Love my Bedrug.

Ha yep - had the same thought when I went to put my Bedrug in this weekend. I was like "oh no", but then found the pre-cut slits and was like "oh yeah!" Those smart mofos at Bedrug.

Yep I noticed the slits but wanted to add a bit of theft-proofness so I unbolted them and remounted the plates on top. But the next day I decided there really wasn’t that much of a chance some clown would steal the rug since it’s custom fit for the Maverick, plus it did look better on top of the D-ring plates, so I removed the four M8’s again !

Ford is big on using Torx plus and E Torx Plus. Allot of the body panels mostly not so much the mechanical components unless we are talking cam phasers.

I believe the Torx Plus screws are used in the bed/tailgate but where are the E Torx screws used?

Probably on engine, seems to be some on Transfer Case.
