Called the Ford # to get the status on my one year ago order of a XL EB and was told the usual nothing yet response, but was also told that my private offer was going to expire on January 3rd, I asked why, was told that all offers have an expiration date, i responded with, yeah but my car will not be built by then ( if ever) so then what, do I lose the private offer, the persons response was to talk to my dealer. Has anyone else heard this?

Are you referring to the $1,750 EcoBoost model year transition offer?

Ford incentives have an expiration date. That said, they get locked in on a retail order based on the order date. With rare exception, since it was valid on the date of order, it's still available for redemption when the truck does come in. The dealer just has to make sure to pull up the incentives based on the order date, not the delivery date.

Yes, if it is that private offer, it should have been active when you ordered an "locked".

Ford may very well "extend" the offer past Jan 3rd next year. That is probably just the default end date for now.

So then I would assume everyone who had to reorder the 22 for a 23 would be in the same boat, that they’re offer will be expiring at the same time?

The expiration date isn't a negative, since all the orders were placed well before January, anyway. The dealer just has to pull it up in the system.

When you order a vehicle, the incentives in place at that time are automatically locked in, even if they expire later. For my Escape, there were 3 available if I bought it that day, and $1,000 for placing an order and waiting (instead of buying off the lot). When the vehicle arrived, all 4 of those were applied to my purchase. Even though they'd all expired on January 3 and I received the vehicle in August.

The downside to this is if Ford offers some kind of promotional interest rate when you go to pick up your truck. Then you have to choose between either the private offer or the promo rate.

Thanks, appreciate the responses, guess I don’t need to worry about it then.

True indeed. At this time, that seems unlikely, however, given rising interest rates, much more supply than demand, etc.
