Sale price is btw customer and the dealership. If a vehicles ordered retail in a customer's name is sold to that customer, then Ford will protect the price of the dealer's invoice (less any change in the fuel change). So price protection is for the dealer. It is designed so that the dealer can sell to the customer based on the price they agreed upon w/ the customer when the order was placed. But Ford doesn't require this price protection to be passed on to the customer.

Some dealers will automatically pass it on to their customers. Some need to be reminded. Some need to be begged. Some will refuse. Some will pass it on the the customers @ the time of the sale. Others will reimburse after the sale (4-8 wks), after Ford has paid them.
So true, almost better to not know about it, if the dealer screws you out of

We all know that dealers in general are out to get as much money out of you as possible. Usually they are pretty good at deception. Almost better to not know about a policy, when they don’t honor it, you’re not upset.
It’s Worth a try, least you know whom you’re dealing with when they say no. ItsExtra $480 in their pocket, but they still complain about how they only make $8 on a Maverick.
Salinas Valley Ford, Salinas California. Beware.
Unless you’re a long time car salesman moving all around to different dealers. Your average Joe that has bought say 10 cars over the years, can still be burned to the games they play.

It's definitely a 23"MY
Alright. That means you should qualify for price protection for the difference between the September price you were quoted and what the window sticker states. Probably about a $500 difference.

No charge for the Azure gray because it's not available in 2023, so you'll get whatever color you ordered prior.

I'd rather take an ass-whupping than buy a new truck!! I went to the fleet dept,./director of fleet sales. Total professional, so far. Easy to contact & talk to. No superfluous BS or sales hype. Granted I'm a little fish in a fleet sales situation, but this person is a straight shooter. They do their own research and have all the answers. Continuous updates. "Let's pull up WEBDO and see". She.....walks to her office and boom...within 2 minutes it's printed out the WEBDO. No going to a sales manager...no getting "permission".. it's been such a different experience. Now, the proof is in the..........We'll see upon arrival. So far, so good..

I ordered my Mav on 9/2/22 and took delivery of my 2023 in late August. I should ask my sales rep for the “price protection” refund. In essence, I want the price diff in model years from 22 to 23. And, Ford is issuing these monies to dealerships. It is up to the dealer if they pass this to customers.

Do I have this right? Sorry to dumb it down, but I had not heard of this. Thank you!

Ford was not taking Maverick orders on 9/22/22. If you placed a build or pre-order then, it wasn't actually placed by the dealer until on or after 9/15/22, and it was a 2023 model year order. Price Protection if applicable to your '23MY vehicle would be for price increases that occurred within the same Model Year, between the time your order was placed and the time the window sticker was generated.

Ford reimburses Price Protection to the dealer, after you have completed the purchase. It is up to your dealer whether to pass it along to you immediatly, send you a check later, or not honor Price Protection at all.

The time to discuss this with your dealer is before you place your order - not now. You're really at their mercy now, as to whether they want to honor Price Protection or not.
