I had to tell my salesman they needed to go into smart vincent and mark protection date. They did and honored the original price even though Ford would not. (No price protection with X plan it appeared.)
I didn't know x plan canceled price protection. I didn't use X plan, just the Farm Bureau.

Neither did I or the dealer, but as soon as protection date was selected a red message appeared that said "vehicle is not eligible for x plan". I had to show him how to get the price protection so I saw the screen myself. We tried doing it in different orders with the same result. Dealer said since they couldn't find anything from ford saying it couldn't be combined and both offers worked separate they would honor the original price and fight with the ford rep for the difference, which was about $900.

OK, Ford offers price protection on all orders within a model year against increases. I ordered my truck at a price level 315, and the sticker at delivery was price level 330. I called Ford CS, and they confirmed I was eligible to lock the September 22 pricing in on my 23 order, since it was a 23 order and I ordered and was completing the purchase. Salesman new nothing about Price protection, so I figured the Finance manager must be able to enter it. Nope.

He says, "well we have to charge what's on the sticker on Mavericks" "I've never heard of price protection, and we have no guarantee Ford will honor that" I showed him the printout from Ford where Ford says they guarantee it. He said he doesn't know where to begin on this. But he was able to enter my Farm Bureau $500 rebate. I asked him how long he was there, and he said 4 months. At this point, I told him I'll get this fixed Monday. Call Ford again, and they confirm that the dealer must complete the request.

Call the General manager, and get put through to a voice mail that won't accept a message. Call back, and say the voice mail is not working. She tells me to hold on that she is with a customer now. She takes the message, and an hour later I get a call back from the General Manager. I mention that the finance manager did not know how to obtain the price protection. He asks "what's price protection"? o_O So I explain well I ordered the 2023 in September at a price level 315, and the window sticker printed at price level 330, and that Ford protects the ordered price within a model year as long as the original customer buys it. Then the General Manager asks What are price levels? I about fell on the floor.

I know they changed most of the staff this year, but it's CRAZY when I know more than them about Ford's policies. He said he will call the regional rep and get back to me. I am bewildered that no one at the dealer knows these things. The Salesman I understand. But the Finance Manager and General Manager? WTF. This may be my last purchase from them.

And The sales manager says if we give all 5 stars to the dealer survey, I'll get a free set of all-weather mats. Well, If they can't figure out how to activate the price protection, they can shove the mats! I care about my $500 difference. Rant off.
Really can't understand why a dealer would be like this. Only thing comes to mind is they will ask for reimbursement from Ford and just keep it.

My order was from October 21. My 2023 came in month or so back. Dealer had the private offer all set up in paper work asked about military okay lets go to this website. Few clicks on the keyboard okay lets add that in too.

Only thing I waiting on is the shipping price difference and another small increase. Total less than $300.00. Dealer said that check will come directly from Ford. Should take 30-60 days. If not get back and will make a query on your behalf.

My dealer crew is either playing dumb for greed, or genuinely has a dumb crew. It's OK. If they don't get this right, their Ford survey will reflect what happened, along with the Google review, and they will never get another penny from me. Their choice at this point. I hope that $500 was worth it.

Update. After a message about the Customer Satisfaction survey, the dealer messaged back and said: "We are going to take care of it today"

Maybe a dealer person can step in on this, but my salesman told me if they don't get all 5's it reflects directly on your salesperson and they take a direct $$ hit as a penalty.

Why is X plan higher than MSRP? is that including dealer fees?

take another look
Yep, I botched that. So $171 plus what ever you saved on the dealer Doc fees. I would've only saved $244 In Doc fees, I used the Farm Bureau discount instead.

Is that your dealer customer satisfaction ,
survey or ford company, do all dealers do this?

I just took delivery of my 2023 Lariat AWD this week. X-Plan discount was priced in at time of order (Sept. 2022). At delivery, I received both X-plan and the price protection to original order date, since there was a mid-year price increase. Dealer had this ready to go without my even asking. (Shults Ford South, Pittsburgh PA).

My second 2023 order (XLT Hybrid) was not produced and so I ordered a 2024 XLT EcoBoost 2WD when the banks opened in July. I was again priced with X-Plan and will also get the private offer for the undelivered 2023.

So yes, X-Plan and price protection can be used together.

I wonder what the difference is. I saw on the screen myself that every time protection date was selected in smart vincent it would pop up in red x plan not available on this vehicle. Did you guys have partner or friend and family x plan?

would you be able to direct the rest of us on price level 315 and 330 so we too can ensure we are charged the correct price? Would be appreciated. Sorry for your situation, always aggravating.

Yes, but not X plan and Farm bureau. Also the private offer is not price protection. Price protection is within a model year, not a transitional offer.
