Price protection info please?

To all the wonderful MTC peeps.. I really enjoy all the post and info.. This is a hard question i bet. I ordered a 23 Tremor XTL TAP 360. needless to say it got rolled to a 24. .Anyways, when i had the option I switched from a 23 Tremor TAP XLT To a 2024 XL Hybrid 360 trailer hitch. I tend to pay cash. So if anyone knows about the price protection check . Could you give me an about how much protection I might get? Or, I do think I saw a post that had a number to call Ford about it and you could get the answer from them. ? Thanks for the help...

Did you ask your dealer? I would expect changing the order is treated like cancelling the original order and creating a new order at the current price.

Be aware that the model year price protection money under program #32168 goes directly from FoMoCo to the dealer, not as a check to you. It is up to the dealer to apply the $$ to your transaction.

They can choose not to give you any, give you part or all.

My dealer tried to gyp me out of $600 of price protection $$.

Edit: The dealer may wait until FoMoCo credits them and then send you a dealer check.

Ask your dealer to look at SmartVincent, their computer program. If they did the order correctly and used the same order number in your revised order as the original order, they did it right. I believe your price protection shows once the vehicle is in production, but ask your dealer to check your order in the system. Tim Bartz, Long McArthur Ford in KS has a great YouTube video on this subject.

Also please do note that what you are talking about is the "model year transition private offer". This is not the same thing as price protection. If you are asking about price protection, but actually referring to this private offer, you may cause confusion at your dealership!
