I wondered the same thing about mine. I took it in to the dealer, and it turns out it wasn't working. They ordered a new module and I'm having it installed next Saturday. Take yours in if you suspect it's not working like it's supposed to be. Use the term "Collision Avoidance" when you talk to the dealer...my service rep seemed confused by the term "AEB".I know the Maverick is standard with pre-collision auto braking. I have yet to be in a dicey situation, but I have it set to highest sensitivity, and yet I never receive any warnings, etc when approaching a stopped vehicle.
Honda vehicles I’ve driven in the past have warned me with audible noises and graphics if approaching a stopped car, but the Maverick has yet to make the pre-collision function known.
Maybe it is conservative and not as reactive as Honda’s safety sense, but just curious whether it will ever kick in if I need it to.
Anyone verified the auto-braking is functional? I don’t want to risk hitting a vehicle just to test to see if it is awake or not, but no clue whether mine is active.![]()
