As my daughter has stated, it's been time to get a new vehicle from this century. That has some drawbacks, like it took me two month to actually like my Maverick that still does surprising thing. Case in point...
I was on the highway today, going with about 60 Mph in the middle lane. The traffic started to slow down in the middle, but the inside lane was open with plenty of room to change. Proceeded to do just and I was almost fully out from the middle lane, when the alarm went off, both on the display with red something blinking and loud sound.I really didn't have time to look at the display, nor did I know initially what it was relating to. Not to mention that it scared the hell out of me. I just continued finishing the lane change and then realized, that it must've been per-collision assist. Neither the system, nor I used the break to slow the vehicle down since it had been a false alert. It's a good thing I experienced this, but made think.
When you go around 60+ Mph and your system is the only one that slams on the brake, that could cause a rear-ended accident or even a pileup. Maybe not, but I am curious of your view for the per-collision assist at high speed...
TIA...
