Have seen several of these in the last couple days. I think, people who did the last recall. (I am also on a Facebook Mav group)
I don't remmeber if there were any fixes, but they are all basically the same thing. Dealers don't know. People really upest because dealers send them away and it happens again. No accidents YET. Lots of close calls like you.
Be safe.
What recall # are we talking about?

I hope everyone with this problem is reporting it to the NHTSA

https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls. If they get enough complains they will investigate it. Its the only way I know of to start a Recall.

I don't even feel safe in the vehicle, if ford can't even figure it out and recreate this issue but can confirm it happened then that's not a company I want to do business with.

I will try to keep you posted as to what they do to mine. They have been able to confirm it IS happening. So far they are doing further investigating. They also mentioned reverting the program back to what it was before the recall was done. They said it would be a few days and may need to contact the engineers at Ford.

Keep me posted that sounds promising for you but I'm pursuing a buyback with ford.

I joined the unfortunate club today. Had the software update done about 2 weeks ago. Lucky I was pulling out of a parking lot where there was no traffic.

never had a car drive like that before. First it lost power and wouldn’t accelerate. I pulled over and shut off the car. Turned it back on and headed back to where I came from. All the sudden it was accelerating without my foot on the gas. Bizzare.

had the code cleared by a friend and it’s been ok the last couple drives but I’m afraid to take it on the freeway.

I was driving down the freeway and my truck when into reduced power mode, displaying " Powertrain malfunction/Reduced power, engine service soon, and precollision assistance not available". This ended up slowing me rapidly from 65 down to under 20 miles. I almost had a semi slam into the back of me missing me by inches. I had it towed to a dealership that day, and it took them a week and multiple test drives to tell me that that cannot recreate this issue. I was told by the shop foreman that there was a issue and that could see it in the vehicles history. The dealership and ford motor company has put me in limbo and is unable to assist with a rental, due to them being unable to find the issue that cause this near death experience.

Hello! I just had RECALLS completed on 02/23/2024 : 24C01 & 23C41 and drove car on 02/25/2024 at 75mph speed (in Texas) and within 1 hour of driving the vehicle began flashing same issue mentioned and brought speed down to MAX 35mph with NO FOOT on pedal. Almost got hit by 18 wheeler! Took it to dealer and 300 miles plus they drove and could not replicate issue. Gave vehicle back and it happened again 03/09/2024 at 70mph ...

Definitely believe it was the update that caused the issue. Extremely dangerous and SCARY too say the least to have the vehicle stop at such high speeds and have almost no control.
