Power lock in A.R.E. caps?

I'm about to pull the trigger on an A.R.E. MX cap from a dealer in Nevada. He told me over the phone that the power lock is available for the MX (single T handle), but I'm concerned he was mistaken, because he asked another question that only applies to the CX. Q&As on Etrailer (here and here) also claim that the aftermarket power lock fits the MX, but the photo in #2 is of a Leer.

I haven't found any actual reports of power locks in an A.R.E. MX on any kind of truck, neither factory installed nor aftermarket.

Can anyone confirm that the power lock is possible?

Just go to 4are.com you can go through the build tool and check. It seems like I remember that being an option. I didn't look at that jazz though, I spent all my frivolous money on HPR paint!

Their build tool also let me configure windoors with the V series shell and it wasn’t until the retailer was entering the order that I found out that it is not an option.
If it lets the dealer order it - then you know for sure you can have it was my experience.

Update:

The dealer wasn't able to order the power lock. It is available only on the aluminum panel rear door.

I'll be trying to rig up an aftermarket solution when the cap arrives, and if I'm successful, I'll post the results here.

Hello All,

Haven't posted since getting my 2023 Maverick in Aug of 2023. I have a HPR with the A.R.E. MX topper and didn't try getting a power lock for the back door T-Handle when I ordered. Wish I had.

Anyways, while out driving I spotted an Area 51 with the A.R.E. MX topper and he had power locking on the back door T-Handle. So it is available. The picture with the door open shows the power locking mechanism. Haven't found it yet. But here is a picture of one.
