Post Built - Before It Was Actually Shipped - Wait Time

Hey everyone. I have searched on MTC a little bit and only found a couple posts here and there about this question, but did not find the question specifically (unless there is a post and I suck at searching on here). So I thought why not ask everyone and have a nice grouping of responses.

My question is how long after your vehicle was Built, was it in the "awaiting shipment" stage before it actually got shipped. I am aware that it could take some time before it physically gets shipped, but also read a few posts that the next day it was already on a train/truck to dealership. Currently it has been about a week since mine was built and it still is sitting at "awaiting shipment" status. I just checked this morning with Ford Chat and I am still awaiting shipment. Well, "released from Hermosillo... awaiting shipment..."

So that is where my question comes into play, to kind of get a feel of how long it "normally" takes before it gets shipped. If many people say 2 weeks, I would assume it is normal to take that long...if everyone says 1 or 2 days, then I assume something else may be going on with my vehicle, or at the plant.

So I am not talking about how long it took from when it got built to when you got the vehicle, I would like to know how long it took from being Built, to actually getting Shipped on the train/convoy.

Mine took 2 days to ship after built notification.

For me it depended on the definition of built. On July 29, 2023 Chat told me my secondary status was built, but not ready to ship. On August 25, 2023 the tracker finally said it was built and shipped same day. Current status, transfer yard waiting for a truck to take it to the dealer.

To try to jump on this thread, how long from a VIN number to a complete build did people have? I'm just curious. Thanks!

My hybrid XLT was built last Thursday and I received the "Built" email from Ford on Friday. I just checked the pizza tracker and my XLT is still "Built" but not shipped. I too am waiting for the train to leave Mexico!

Mine was built on 30 Aug still waiting to be shipped, had a vin on 15 June. Scheduled for 31 July originally.

My truck was a "test" truck so it took a little bit longer. I guess they pick trucks at random to do testing on. Kinda gave me peace of mind knowing it went through extra tasks to make sure everything was good to go. With all that being said, it only added an additional week for a total of 3 weeks that I waited for it to ship and arrive at the dealer. Due to Labor Day weekend, it stayed at the rail yard for an extra 3 days before hitting the lot on Labor Day.

9 weeks for me. It is supposed to be built the week of 9/18

I have VINS on both my 24 Lariat Hybrid orders. Scheduled for build Oct 16, and Oct 30th. Received the emails from Ford on 8/24 and 8/29.

I suppose it will sit til there's enough going to my general location to fill a rail car.

It varies and likely depending on when the railroad car is available for loading, the train heading out and destination. My Ford tracker said it was built/shipped on the same day.
