Sure the vinyl will ha g over the tailgate a bit but that rubber flap is floating an inch away from the tailgate. I bet you can get half your hand in the bed under that vinyl.

I bet if it's touching the bulkhead near the window, then you can get 5 whole fingers between the tailgate and cover. If you move it towards the tailgate, then it will be hanging off the bulkhead and not seal there. I took mine off and am trying to get them to take this inch and a half short...
