That looks like my mileage on an average day. I was very disappointed but it is what it is. My old mazda 3 spoiled me by getting 27mpg rain or shine.

Per tank I think I average about 20 which is what my old 1980 toyota pickup used to get. Same with my old 1990 volvo 240 and a few other vehicles we had. You would think all the modern computer controls would squeeze out more but no.

The link doesn't work. What kind of equipment do you have? My hybrid has a 400W 120V inverter. Your radio needs more power than that?
400watts at 120 v is only 3.3 amps plus it modified sine inverter = won't run much.

All I know, the past 2 months) is I get a routine 34-36 mpg on my daily 100 mile commute (mixed driving Freeway/Rural/City) from Port Huron to Clinton Township Michigan in my EcoBoost. (more like 30-31 in winter)
Best was last weekend where I took a 200 mile run (50/50 normal / eco modes @ 55-60 mph) up the Thumb Coast here in Michigan and - with conscious effort - pegged the dash display at 42mpg and burned a quarter tank for the day after several beach stops ;)

... But I could not get it past 42. Trick is to be aware of what gear (rpms) and a feather touch on the gas pedal. And yes there are pics of the screen as my wife was just amazed - me it is what it is and have nothing to prove to anyone ;)

Cheers

Since I have power hungry 2 way radio equipment in use the hybrid 12 volt electrical system cannot handle it.
Hybrid DCDC converter is rated 265 amp continuous. You just need a second 200+ AH battery with its own BMS that can accept at least 60-100 amp at 15.5v or install a voltage limiter for it at whatever DC voltage you desire.

Is that why many say their 12 volt battery is often dead?

These trucks are very economical to operate.

50 amps x 13.8 v = 690 watts. Holy cow, you’d need to be almost 10 feet from the antenna to keep your RF exposure down to a level that doesn’t cook your brain.
250 watts pep.

Ecoboost/4k/fx4 managed to get a hair over 36 mpg on a trip yesterday. Rehoboth beach DE to SEPA about 110 miles. Most of it is straight highway and most of it is fairly flat. Used CC extensively and used the switch rather than the pedal to tweak the speed - if you bump up with the switch it accelerates gradually and efficiently. This was on 87 octane.

My previous best was about 32 mpg but that was on a trip up to Syracuse, which goes through a lot of mountains.

Now this was kind of a unique case since there was very little stop and go on either end, but my daily commute is almost all stop and go and on some fill ups I average under 20 mpg. Nice to see how it could do under almost ideal conditions.
My 69 Ranger F100 390V8 got 10! My 1971 Maverick 250 I6 could only do 25. This is the most economical ride I have ever owned in 60 years of licensed driving.

Is that why many say their 12 volt battery is often dead?
There are many reasons 12v is low voltage. We do not know the 12v BMS logic. The 12v is not a starting battery so CCA is not as important as reserve capacity. The battery drains when truck is off play a large part. The 12v BMS is actually a tester and makes decisions based on many things including date of install. I have not had dead battery in four mavericks 3 hybrids one Tremor. But when my dash power point monitor shows less than 12v I will put my noco genius 5 maintainer on and leave it on as long as possible. With the drains happening every night it can take several days for the charge to complete and then the "optimization" routines to complete. The larger AGM in the Tremor since I only had a 5amp instead of 10 would take more days. I have a 23 month old hybrid XLT LUX which has only 2300 miles on it. I put my noco 5 on it for most of May and it appears that that period with battery topped off the BMS thinks it really good. After no noco for June and July my one week rested 12v was 12.3 with dash lit up and running lights off. FYI my remaining oil life after my first oil change at 965 miles 11 months ago shows to be 20% yesterday! FYI Someone claiming to be engineer who did not say if he worked for railroad on F150 blog said that the Ford battery needed at least a 4 stage maintainer periodically for battery health.

It's almost useless. Most people would be better off with an external inverter you either plug into the 12v socket or connect directly to the battery.

I've used mine for a laptop that's about it.

99% highway driving with cruise control over generally very flat terrain.

this past weekend
you can do the calc for average speed, as you can see I take my time
shorter distance is flat, with about 1.2 K elevation gain
the longer distance starts in the rugged mountain town of Leadville, through Denver, ending in Fort Collins, a little over 5k descent, not pictured is 38.6 from Denver to Leadville, over 5k ascent, a kick-ass uphill drive, probably 375 pounds of gear, tools, and me, but my gosh this Maverick can seriously climb with power to spare!

I do wish there was something between D and L for the descents, but a minor wish.

I am getting a Trek bed cap soon....mpg to be continued.

Ford Maverick Pleasantly surprised. Over 36mpg merino to denver
