Plastic Interior 2024 Seems less easy to scratch

I have owned a 2022 2023 and as of a day ago now own a 2024 Maverick Lariat.

Looking as the interior plastics the 2024 seems more shinny and hard to scratch than the earlier years I have owned. 2022 Lariat ECO, 2023 Lariat hybrid, 2024 Lariat ECO.

Anyone else notice any changes to 2024 interior plastics?

Probably going to jinx myself, but so far I don't believe I've scratched the interior in just under 7 months on my '23 Lariat. I do wipe it down with Turtle-Wax Graphene Interior spray monthly, so maybe the graphene helps prevent scratches.

Yes, it's all plastic and not going to be confused with the interior of a Lexus, but I like the interior and it isn't any lower grade feeling than the prior '12 Outback Limited.

Oh you most certainly have! Take a look at the plastic on your seat right next to the driver seat cushion.

Take a picture, because I bet you have dozens of scratches there!

under the seatbelt hanger... guaranteed it's scratched within the first 100 miles!

BTW - yes, the maverick plastic is cheap and easily scratched, but that area is scratched up bigtime on my Bronco as well. thanks Ford, LOL.

It's one of those, "tell me this is your first Ford without telling me this is your first Ford" moments.

I promise you that $95k King Ranch F-250 also has the same scratches in those locations as we do. We just paid roughly 1/3 of what they did for them!

But the scratches on the backside of the plastic panels when you take them off, like something was trying to claw it's way out from inside your dash, how can those be explained?

I had scratches there after driving home from the dealer. I still don’t know what caused them
