Perimeter Detection Click Sounds - Lariat

I have lariat that does the same thing, A clicking as if the doors were loocking and unlocking and this will happen even if i have been out of it for while.I can go back in the garage say thirty min later and stand by the wash room door witch is about 20 ft from it and it dont do it but if i walk over to it and wipe the windshield off and wipe it down it will do it.You might have found the anwser to the problem i hope so.

For sure! Clicky buggers, exactly as you say with intelligent access proximity. And especially the Lariat hybrid, it has a variety of clicks after you shut off the vehicle as well. Very talkative. I usually leave my fob in the truck and use the keypad, but even then when I use the keypad it will start clicking before I finish entering the code. Like its signaling to spool up the minigun defense turret unless you put the code in right.

It states that I have a perimeter alarm on my sticker. I think you're asking if I have "Perimeter Plus", which is deceiving AF.

Had to check. My sticker shows Perimeter Alarm as well. No idea what it is. Have yet to have an alarm go off.

No Alarm setting on my Menu either? According to the Manual the Perimeter Alarm includes Interior motion sensors.
The additional Perimeter Plus($215) is a shock sensor.

Its been reported before, and I can attest to it too, that even without the perimeter stuff (I have a basic xlt) there are all sorts of clicks that happen upon turning off the truck, or as some said, when you walk up to it after a while. I think around here they explain it as relays. See this thread:

You don't have a Perimeter alarm. Ford lied to you and it seems the dealerships perpetrated this lie to the customers, you and I. You have anti-theft in the FOB but no alarm. Even the truck manual says you do in all trims. Yet I have yet to see a Lariat that has a security alarm.

I have that clicky sound on my xl hybrid. It can be annoying when you are working next to the truck. The doors also lock automatically when in certain situations. I think it is when it is idling and the doors are shut. I don't have any kind of perimeter alarm.
