I received my Maverick in mid-January and have been generally happy with it, until this evening. After driving for three days from Long Island New York back to Miami, I decided to pull over at a rest stop north of Ft. Pierce to close my eyes for a bit. I rolled the electric powered windows down and lo and behold, the Passenger rear window won't go back up. When I arrived home I put a tarp over the top to cover the window should it rain overnight. My Truck only had just over 8000 miles on it and already stuff is breaking on it. Couple this with a recall for the tow hitch sensor and I have to tell you that Ford sucks. Straight up sucks. I paid a lot of money for my truck and this garbage shouldn't be happening in a brand new truck. It tells me that Ford did a half-assed job on the production, and its does not give me confidence that this truck will have any reliability. I am not in the mood to deal with Ford or Maverick apologists so if you are going to make excuses for Ford, save you time. I don't want to hear or see it. The Maverick sucks and I am fed up with all of the glitchy crap that is happening with the onboard Entertainment system and touch screen. From it blacking out, to freezing, to dropping out, to putting up fake service warnings, the Ford pass system is garbage. Pure garbage. Now, add to it a window that won't go up and what I have is $33,000 worth of junk and a guarantee of more recalls and more electrical failures thanks to shoddy workmanship.
Pretty simple solution, sell it make money move on and get of the forum.

Sarcasm noted. I brought the truck to the dealership and its will be three days at least. They took me to Hertz for a loner car and the guy at Hertz ran out to tell the Ford driver that he told Ford over and over again not to bring their customers to them and that they don't have any loner cars. So, I am sitting in the lobby of the accessories and service department waiting to see what they can do. I ask you, do you think three recalls (one of which affected me) as well as a broken rear passenger window and a Ford pass/OID that freezes or goes black constantly on a brand new vehicle speaks of quality control or of attention to detail? I don't. You and others can be as sarcastic as you want. Ford and others auto manufacturers love people with low standards and deep pockets. They have found that it is easier and less expensive to apologize and fix the problem after the fact knowing that their sub-par warranties will expire soon and then the soaking can begin. By the way, if all you want to hear is only positive reviews and ignore the truth of the garbage Ford is selling then you all deserve to be screwed by Ford.
Is this your first Ford?

Thanks for clarifying your position. I am seriously considering it.
Why just considering? If you've such a massive issue with the truck, you can make more than you bought for it right now. Right now. You need to consider if you hate the truck even more orr???

I understand this post a little better and understand you are venting. I would be venting also if I was taken to Hertz and could not get a loaner and am sitting at my dealer while they are figuring out what to do because they did not plan ahead or did not care to do so. That is extremely poor customer service!!
I also noted that you included other auto manufacturers in your post and I think you are right in the system being broken throughout the industry.

If you get past this hurdle, give it a chance while you check out what you consider other options.

Thanks for understanding. Venting is the right word. To clarify where I am coming from, my last vehicle was a 2013 Sonata. I had at least five recalls, including one for the theta II engine with metal shards being left in the engine after manufacture. A year after the recall and after having Hyundai check the engine, the engine seized up. Fortunately, they replaced the engine. Unfortunately, that actually destroyed the resale value. I ultimately gave it to my dad instead of getting a paltry trade in value for it.

Buying the Maverick was a first for me in many ways. It was the first Ford I owned since my '73 Mercury Montego hand me down back in the early 80s. It was also the first time I ordered a vehicle built to my specifications. I just want to be free of endless recalls. I had more than my share with the Hyundai. When things start going south so early in the life of the vehicle I have to say that It was very disappointing. The dealership did their best for me in eventually getting me a loner. Unfortunately for the dealer, they are on the business and facetime end of the whole process. They have to cleanup the mistakes of the manufacturing plant and they have to hear it from upset customers such as myself. The service department manager was telling me about a Porsche engine that kept failing and burning way too much oil. He said Porsche's temporary solution was to give customers two quarts of oil to refill the engine as it burned oil. This was their solution until they can replace the engines. I can't imagine how furious The owners were. I am sure they paid three times as much for their vehicles.

It doesn't seem to matter whether it is Ford or Porsche. The attention to detail and quality control is lacking industry-wide, and in my opinion, it is because the customers accept it as the normal course of business these days. I don't think I will sell because it is still new and in the end, mostly up to me as to how long it will last. I just want everybody's vehicle to be free of sub-par manufacture. I want everybody to have a quality vehicle no matter how much they pay. I also want people to push back on companies that charge top dollar for their product but don't deliver with consistency and longevity. So, again, thanks for understanding my vent.

I had one problem with my truck which was made in September. Had seal on a wire ford fixed it then gave me a free maintenance and service plan that lasts my truck till almost 80k so at the worst I have a small deductible if I blow the engine... etc I know it's only about another 20k past what the engine and power train warranty are but still was something

I always find it amusing when people express their displeasure with a situation or product when all you need to do is sell or distance yourself and in this case just sell it and move on with your life.

Wow seriously 1 recall and a broken window. In 8000 miles. Things happen. How are you guaranteed more failures?

I feel your pain on things braken.I have a 2021 Z71 Colorado and trans has issues the dash lights go out and the seats rock back and forth. And they are power seats. I do have a Lariat being built June 6th.But thinking of staying with what I have. Not that I don't trust Ford. Have had 4 Ford trucks in the past. Just been waiting for 7 months. And 1 to have it delivered. Good luck with your truck. Hope things work out.

Welcome to a first year vehicle. It usually takes a year or so to work out issues and figure out which suppliers products are doing what they are supposed to do. It will get better.
