Took it in to the dealer and they say it needs a new BCM. Now waiting on backorder for one to come in.

Weird thing is that it's working on the driver's side door.

I also have the constant deep sleep mode problem.

Mine did the same thing.I just went into options, turned off Intelligent Access, locked, unlocked, turned it back on, and it has been working fine ever since.

FWIW in your case (manufactured before May '22) there's a TSB to reprogram the BCM to address it stopping on the driver's door.

Ford needs to figure out this deep sleep problem. Mavs aren't the only vehicles suffering from random deep sleeps. I've had 2 new batteries put in my Fusion under warranty and it still occasionally goes into deep sleep in winter. No aftermarket accessories, nothing plugged into USB or 12V outlets. Just another ridiculously stupid Ford designed/engineered system.

So you can still get into the vehicle (mechanical key or keyfob unlock button notwithstanding).
"mechanical key or keyfob unlock button notwithstanding" is not the touch handle

I mean that while the passenger side disables for power-saving Ford may have decided it wanted to keep the driver's door still functional so you can still unlock conveniently even though technically there's those other methods. Particularly since some other models the manual lock hole is more hidden. Possibly it is disabling some of the proximity transponders to save power? I'd also imagine on other models that actually have intelligent access on rear doors those may also disable in deep sleep as well.

I also have had to do this 3 times over the last year, but it is working.

I was reading this and thinking, Really? Is it like what happens if Microsoft developed a car? Car stutters doing down the road, stop the car, open all the doors, run around in circle, get back in and it starts up fine?

Sadly for Ford, I have to say that this approached worked for me as well.

Mine didn't start misbehaving until I took it to the dealer last. I almost convinced myself that the passenger side never worked.

Thanks again.

Then why does it work on the driver's side?
Drive side likely has a separate input point to the BCM.
Hopefully it won't be more of a problem than your oil leak.

My rule in any vehicle if electrical issue= replace battery even if it's a month old. When new battery is installed if possible charge it first or charge it as soon as possible. Then research electrical problem. From what I read here the size99RT4 is on back order so try to charge existing thoroughly before diagnosing problem. I would expect the Ford dealer would have batteries on maintenance charge awaiting installation. Would be nice to see battery "ready to install" room through window from waiting area! 🤗
