This started 10 days ago...normally when you come to a stop and you are still in Drive, the car will start to roll as soon as the breaks are released. 10 days ago my Maverick non-hybrid started not to behave like that. Now when I come to a full stop such as at a traffic light and I remove the foot from the breaks, the car is still in full stop as if the parking brake is engaged which it is not. As soon as I accelerate it goes away and off I go but that does not seem normal, any comments about this? Thanks

My understanding from reading is that you have pressed the button near your shifter knob. Automatically hold you at stop signs and stop lights until you press the accelerator. You may want to look in your owner's manual.

It sounds like you have Auto Brake Hold engaged. It can be deactivated with a button on the same panel as your drive mode button. The truck will remember this this setting.

You probably turned on Auto Hold. In the picture below, it'd be the button below the gear shifter on the bank of 4, on the bottom right. This icon:

Per your manual:

Yep, sounds like auto-hold. It is a neat feature and I tried it on my Escape. But it has over 25 years of muscle memory to contend with. I like having that little bit of roll when I take my foot off the brake.

I use it all the time and was surprised when it didn’t work one day. Sure enough it had gotten turned off.

I fixed that and turned it back on.

Love that feature. 😊

Wow thats awesome thanks for the fast replies, very clear, and I am happy its nothing to do with brake issues. The manual is just not something I spend too much time reading because 95% is stuff we all know...thanks again!
